2011 Volvo V60: Another Wagon Not For America
We’re pragmatists here during Cars.com. We assimilate which American automobile buyers have oral with their wallets as well as shunned a hire car in preference of SUVs as well as crossovers. We get it.
That doesn’t meant we don’t wish wagons, yet.
While America slept in Monday, Volvo denounced the brand new V60 sports car abroad. The association says 90% of buyers will be from Europe as well as a alternative 10% patently from points outward a U.S.
Volvo orator James Hope forked out which a V70 car sole some-more than 10,000 units in 2004. By 2009 a association sole reduction than 1,800.
That’s a little unhappy headlines for car fans who can drown their tears by browsing some-more photos of a all-new V60 next. And if they can live with the sedan, a all-new S60 will strike U.S. dealers after this summer.
Hennessey Camaro SS HPE600
Here is the latest car tuning project from Hennessey Performance based on the all new Chevy Camaro SS called the HPE600. The orange car you see here is actually the model for the HPE550 package, but we think it looks better than the maroon HPE600 pictured below. It will be available for the 2010-2011 LS3 or L99 engines and boosted with a TVS2300 Supercharger System. Hence the HPE600 name, the modified Camaro now puts down 602 hp and 807 Nm of torque. The tuners who are located in Texas, claim that the 0-60 mph time is in the mid three-second range, and it can run the quarter mile in 11 seconds. A full list of performance customizations include the new supercharger system, HPE cold air induction system, 1 7/8 inch long tube stainless steel headers, fuel injector upgrade, high flowing catalytic converters, HPE engine management calibration, and a dyno tune to get everything in sync.
Besides the engine tuning, Hennessey Performance took the Cheverolet Camaro SS above and beyond with limited edition numbered plaques for the dash and engine, a new carbon aero body kit, full coilover suspension upgrade, clutch improvements, lightweight wheels, and a custom leather interior. However, what makes these guys legit is the fact they offer a three year or 36,000 mile limited warranty on this Camaro build. Check the video after the pictures.

GWA-Tuning 2011 Mercedes E63 AMG Wagon
(Non Stop Cars) - 2011 Mercedes E63 AMG has been created by engineers Texan and station wagon body style is entering an era of rebirth.
GWA Tuning is a new name in the business, but the first project they’re presenting is a rather interesting one. It’s a full body kit for the new Mercedes E63 AMG Station Wagon, consisting of modified bumpers, spoiler lip, side skirts, carbon side vents, roof wing, huge rear diffuser and a pair of twin mufflers. The best part of it however, is the new front grille which looks really good.
The AMG load-lugger also gets a set of spiffy deep-dish alloy wheels (19-inch up front and 20-inch at the back), a suspension lowering module as well as brushed aluminum pedals with foot rest and illuminated logo door sills.
Nicely Modded Mitsubishi Lancer EVO X
It’s amazing what the right set of rims combined with a lower suspension can do to the appearance of a car. And although the owner of the Mitsubishi Lancer EVO X, Ryan Gates, is actually setting the car up for track use and in particular, for the NASA TT-A class and the Street AWD class at select Redline Time Attacks, those absolutely stunning black-colored 18-inch rims could make any EVO X look totally sick.

2011 AMG Gullwing
Mercedes-Benz and its performance divisions AMG and HWA are working on a host of new sports cars with a number of prototypes already spotted testing at both the Nurburgring and America’s Death Valley. Yesterday, spy images of a new Black Series version of the facelifted SL surfaced and last month images of another prototype dubbed the SLC turned up. We now have new renderings of a third Mercedes sports car said to be in development, a gull-winged coupe based on a shortened SL platform described as a spiritual successor to the original 300 SL.
Rumored to hit the streets in 2010 or 2011, the new car will feature an upgraded version of AMG’s hand-built 6.2L V8 with power levels in excess of 600hp. The car is being developed internally by Mercedes and AMG engineers and production numbers are expected to range between 3,000 and 5,000 units per year.
2012 Mercedes-Benz B-Class
Although the current car is essentially a mini-MPV, the next-gen B-Class will likely take the form of a more conventional hatchback. The move is intended to make the B-Class more appealing to younger demographics.
The hatchback seen in our photos will likely be a part of the B-Class’ U.S. mix, but two other models are still under consideration. Mercedes is planning sedan and SUV variants of the next B-Class, giving the premium compact a broader appeal among U.S. buyers.
It remains to be seen what engines will be offered in the new B-Class but expect diesel and gas offerings, and possibly even a hybrid option. Mercedes is also working on a high-performance AMG B-Class model, which will likely feature a four-cylinder with forced induction.
On the interior photos we can clearly see that the display for the radio and navigation has moved up a bit on the dashboard as well as it seems that the gearstick for the automatic gearbox comes with a steering column gear selector rather than a gearstick in the center console. That will offer more possibilities for storage in the center console.

Duke It out with the Nissan Juke
Nissan is one of those so-so manufacturers. They come out with some fairly nice models, they come out with some duds, but more of the time, they seem to just ride the middle ground; they tend to be a little … mediocre.
The new Nissan Juke looks awesome. It is a compact little crossover that was revealed just last year at the motor show in Geneva. It was originally previewed by a concept, the Qazana. This is the production version, and something about it is just super cool.
All of the good things about the concept version have made it into production, and a lot of improvements have been made as well. The result as what you see here, something edgy and innovative and really appealing.

Infiniti Essence Concept
Infiniti Essence Concept – the most attractive car ever come from Nissan – introduced at 2009 Geneva Motor Show. It is no accident that a Japanese halo concept car makes its debut at Geneva, as Infiniti is primed and ready to bring its thrilling product line to the European market.
The Infiniti Essence uses a similar engine to the GT-R at its heart, but adds a newly-developed Nissan corporate electric motor to produce an extra 158 horsepower. The setup allows the car to drive in congested urban traffic with the electric motor alone. Once the driver finds a wide open road, the electric motor and gasoline engine work in harmony delivering the full power.
Nissan challenges the van segment with some clever features
It may be one of the least sexy vehicles Nissan Motor Co. has ever unveiled: a big white commercial van with blank side panels and a bare interior.
Nissan wants to use convenience features, such as pre-drilled shelving holes and spill-resistant seat fabrics, to challenge the Detroit 3 for a modest piece of their near-total control of the full-sized van segment.
In January, Mercedes-Benz USA dealers took over sales of the Sprinter van, which represents about 5 percent of the segment, from Dodge.
“We believe there is an opportunity here,” said Brian Carolin, Nissan’s senior vice president for North American sales and marketing. “Our dealers are telling us that customers want something new that isn’t available on the market.”
“Commercial van owners are some of the least-satisfied owners of any segment in the industry,” he says.
The van was designed and engineered in Nissan’s U.S. studios with a list of why-didn’t we-think-of-that features:
– The NV will provide drivers with a center console for personal storage needs–something Nissan claims is nonexistent among its competitors. A walking tour of other offerings at the truck show failed to prove Nissan wrong.
– Its tall roofline is designed to allow operators up to 6 feet 2 inches tall to walk through the vehicle without ducking their heads.
– Driver and passenger seats are double reinforced on the exit side to compensate for occupants climbing in and out of their trucks all day. The seat seams are located lower than normal so that hours of sitting and pressure don’t rip them open.
– At the truck’s display, potential customers watched as Nissan representatives poured cups of Coca-Cola onto the seats and the liquid beaded up and rolled into pans without leaving stains.
– The sides of the cargo box interior are pre-drilled with anchor holes. That will enable buyers to install and secure utility shelving without drilling into the vehicle’s metal and risking corrosion.
– The roof is equipped with anchor points to install roof racks, meaning holes do not have to be drilled in the roof. The cargo area is pre-wired for electrical needs.
It is standard industry practice for van customizers, known as upfitters, to spend hours on an empty van, fitting it to customer specifications after it is sold.
The NV series will come in three models: the NV1500, with a 4.0-liter V6 engine and standard roof line; the NV2500, with either a standard or tall roofline, and either the V6 or a 5.6-liter V8; and the NV3500, with either roof and the V8 engine only. The model names refer to their cargo capacity.

Lexus CT 200h Hybrid Announced for US
Toyota officials last week confirmed that the Lexus CT 200h, a premium hybrid hatchback, is coming to the United States, according to a report in Automotive News. The Lexus CT 200h would be Lexus’s first compact car, and the first compact hybrid sold by Toyota in the US. It is powered by a 1.8-liter 4-cylinder VVT-i engine and the Lexus Hybrid Drive system. Two electric motors drive the wheels and recharge the battery pack. The hybrid battery pack is located under the rear cargo area within the wheelbase for optimized balance.
The CT 200h comes with an electronically controlled continuously variable transmission with four drive modes — Normal, Eco, Sport and EV — which are more or less self-explanatory. But don’t expect to cruise even to the grocery story in pure E.V. mode. The farthest you can expect using just the electric motors is about one mile.
Competes with: No other hybrids, but gas-only models like the Volvo C30, Mini Cooper Clubman and the diesel Audi A3
Looks like: Lexus is in a risk-taking mood — it’s the only thing a luxury hatchback could signal
Drivetrain: 1.8-liter gas engine and electric motor/generator producing 134 hp (total); front-wheel drive
Hits dealerships: Early 2011

Jaguar to preview 2012 XK with Paris concept
ccording to a recent report, Jaguar will use the Paris Motor Show to introduce a brand new judgment that previews a 2012 XK.
This XK coupe concept is a two-seater with sculpted, classically beautiful bodywork of the style that has typically been Jaguar’s hallmark. This look is meant to celebrate Jaguar’s reputation as a maker of sports cars. The concept will go before the next phase of Jaguar’s new models, which begins in 2012 with the new XK.
This signifies the beginning of another phase of Jaguar design. About five years ago, the Ian Callum-inspired reinvention of Jaguar’s model range started with the current XK. It was followed by the XF and finally, there’s the current XJ.
The key design feature that’s expected to be revised in future models is the oval, E-type-inspired grille. In a previous interview with Autoweek, Callum said that Jaguar can’t stretch the oval grille to fit the face of bigger cars without dropping its elegant proportions. Jaguar will then be using a single grille design for its sedans and sports cars that is based on the oblong XF/XJ design.
Jaguar is currently developing the shape for future models, with the Paris concept giving us a first look at the next-generation oblong grille on a sports car. Amazingly, this concept has a hybrid powertrain. It’s expected to be based around a V6 gasoline engine, which could possibly be turbocharged and is linked to an eight-speed automatic, which Jaguar seeks to use in future models.

While details are limited, the car is expected to adopt an evolution of Jaguar’s new design language (from the XF / XJ). It will be larger than the current XK, which signals the intention to turn the 2012 model into a legitimate four-seater. More importantly, by making the car larger, they are creating room for the long-rumored XE coupe / roadster.
